The Leicester Ginga Archive: Raw Data Archive |
The original Ginga First Reduction Files (FRFs) are available
through the LEDAS database table
GINGAFRF. This database, made using the ``kiroku'' (or log sheets), is the
best route for accessing the raw data. You can select data according to pointing
direction, bit rate, operating mode, observation date etc. to locate all FRFs
belonging to one observation. The GINGAFRF database table contains one entry per
slot start or end time (i.e. a new entry occurs every time there is an
Earth occultation, ground station pass, electron belt passage etc.). The FRFs
containing all the selected slots may be extracted using the xp command
from within BROWSE or by clicking on the FRF names in ARNIE. A full description
of the database table is available from both BROWSE and ARNIE. The default
sample of the GINGAFRF database table contains only the pointed data. If you are
interested in slewing or scanning data then you need to select the total
sample with the BROWSE command csam total; this sample is not accessible
with ARNIE. Once you have obtained your raw data, you will need a copy
of the Leicester Ginga Data Analysis Software
to produce spectra and light curves of the source.
