The Leicester Ginga Archive
Products DatabasesThe products databases contain a quality controlled
set of processed Ginga data products. All target and background observations
taken in MPC1 mode are made available through the LEDAS database tables
GINGALAC and
GINGABGD respectively. Thus, the products databases include approximately
80% of Ginga target observations and almost all background observations.
The database tables not only provide a summary of the results of each observation,
but they provide access to the data products. These include FITS
spectra (48 channel, top- and mid-layer separated) and light curves (16 second
time resolution), HDS and FITS data cubes and the plots
produced during the pipeline processing (a paper
is available describing the processing). These products can be used either
with the XANADU suite
of software, the FTOOLS software package or the
Ginga data analysis software. You can access the GINGABGD and
GINGALAC products databases through either ARNIE (the ARchive Network InterfacE
for LEDAS) via the WWW or BROWSE by using an SSH connection to the Leicester Database
node ledas2.star.le.ac.uk (log in as ledas). You can select data according to target name, pointing
direction, observation date etc. and retrieve the results by clicking on the links
in ARNIE or by using the xp command from within BROWSE. A full description
of the database tables is available from both ARNIE and BROWSE.
