The field size must be larger than 17", and smaller than 1.8 degrees. Service timeThe time taken to service a request depends on the size of the requested image, whether it overlaps the edge of a plate, and which survey is requested. DSS-I requests query image data stored locally at LEDAS. DSS-II requests are made over the network to the image server at ESO, and will therefore be significantly slower. A typical 10'x10' DSS-I image close to the centre of a plate will be returned in a few seconds, whereas a 1x1 degree image could overlap three or four separate plates, and may take a minute or more to be fulfilled. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
